I’m going to come out and say right away that the level of interest in this post is yet to be determined. I’ll explain what I mean by this at the end of this article, but before we get to that, consider for a second how much time people spend on their mobile devices (i.e., smart phones). I am a teacher at a major university and besides the fact that many people never even put their phones away in class (eventhough I require them to, and I don’t think they know they aren’t as sneaky as they think they are when they candidly check the during class, haha), once they leave class, everyone IMMEDIATELY checks their phones. In many of the buildings I teach in, you have to take an elevator to the lecture hall and if you are in an elevator right after class (or anytime for that matter) every single person is glued to their phone! So what MLM Ideas can we get from this?
This doesn’t mean that it translates to all age groups, but the trend is undeniable and I have even heard that many exerts think that the laptop or home computer is a thing of the past. In fact, when I was visiting an old roommate of mine from college was showing me all the things he does from his phone that he
doesn’t have to pull out his laptop for. This tells me several things: 1) that people are looking for quick as easy to get information without having to adjust their physical position in any way, 2) since mobile websites aren’t that user friendly most of the time, can Apps be used to convey content to my team or 3) can this be used as a lead generation device?
What Are The Experts Saying?
I was at a conference in Las Vegas a few weeks ago and there was a speaker that has made his living doing online marketing and he is not only convinced that Apps are the wave of the future, but he sold his internet business and completely moved his efforts over to App creation. I couldn’t resist but plug into his training as this seemed like an untapped resource, or at least worth looking into with more detail. This is a fairly unknown area in Network Marketing, but let’s talk about this from 2 perspectives: 1) MLM Lead Generation and 2) Team Communication.
Mobile MLM Leads
If people are in fact searching on the App Store or Android Market so much, it stands to reason that if you could provide someone with value and get them to download your App, this would be a good way to build your list. However, this depends on if people that are looking for Apps are also looking for what you have to offer. For instance, if I make an App that provides MLM Training, even if there is a high Google search volume, does this mean there is also a high search for this in the App Store? I’m not sure about this yet, but since it is an untapped market, why not try it out? Let’s also imagine for a moment that you have the business presentation and other resources for your network marketing company on a free App, how cool would that be? Not only could you get free traffic to the presentation, it would provide an easy resource for your other prospects!
Get The Word Out
Communication and free time are king in modern society, and many people on your team don’t have time to sit in front of the computer for 45 min to watch a webinar or do a training video. Having an App that would keep them plugged in with your blog posts, new webinars, new training videos, etc… could be an incredibly easy way to keep your team up to date while they are on the fly!
My interest (an by extension hopefully your interest) in this post will be determined my how successful my jump into the App market is, but…
More to come on this soon, and keep your eyes peeled for the release of my first MLM Training App in the next couple weeks
Justin
