Often times when you talk with people about network marketing, they are very fast to talk about how it is a great business model because you just have to sign up a few people and then they will do all of the work for you. There is an element of truth to this concept, and it is a very nice idea, but in order to attain lasting success in network marketing, you need to establish yourself as a leader that can provide MLM Ideas and recruit people in your downline that will be leaders as well. This is critical for several reasons:
MLM Ideas: Leadership is King
1) People will be more likely to join you or your team if you can demonstrate value and help with their problems. As a result, you will continue to be able to recruit people as you will be an attractive business partner.
2) Teaching your team to be leaders as well can take the pressure off you because they are trained to help people in their downline and provide you with the people you are looking for so that you don’t have to be micromanaging your downline.
3) It makes you more likely to succeed because you know how to be a more successful network marketer.
With the importance of being a leader in network marketing now clear, what are the important components of leadership (Read more about this in Napoleon Hill’s Think and Grow Rich)?
1) Unwavering Courage. No follower wished to be dominated by a leader who lacks self confidence and courage. No intelligent follower will be dominated by such a leader for very long. In network marketing you must posture yourself to your team and your prospects as someone that is providing them with solutions. To give you an example of this, how many of you have gone to a conference for your network marketing company and saw that a specific person was providing their downline with training and leads, and you wished that you has been signed up by that person? If you have experienced this, you see the power of proving yourself as a leader to grow your business!
2) Self-control. The individual who can’t control themselves can never control others, self-control sets a mighty example for one’s followers, which the more intelligent will emulate. This is more of a general business tip in that people are more likely to want to align themselves with people that have things together. Lead with an example of character
3) A keen sense of justice. Without a sense of fairness and justice, no leader can command and retain the respect of their followers. As a leader in network marketing, it is not enough to show people value before you sign them up, you must follow through with the value that you promised after they are on your team. Do you have a plan in place to do this with your current and future team?

I am really excited about this concept because it provides tools to help you become a leader in network marketing, a process that is essential to success in your business. Remember 2 things about being a leader in network marketing:
1) People want to work with leaders
2) Leaders attract leaders
4) Definiteness of Plans. The successful leader must plan their work, and work their plan. A leader who moves by quesswork, without practical, definite plans, is comparable to a ship without a rudder. Sooner or later they will land on the rocks. This is directly in line with my overall philosophy for success in everything that I have ever done from athletics, to my research career and most importantly to you all, my network marketing business.
a) Figure out your goal, arm yourself with the tools and training you need to attain your goal. If it is to use facebook to expand your business, figure out how you can most effectively use facebook to accomplish your goal. Some of these tools may be easier to implement than you think!
b) Create your daily plan. Based on the tools you learn from an expert in your particular area of interest, create a plan of how you are going to attain these goals
c) Execute you plan. This is self explanatory
As you start to become successful in your business, your team and your prospects will start to look to you for advice and leadership. You have effectively led by example and helped them to do the same. My plan is to provide people with the exact training that they need and teach them to do the same. In doing that, I want to create an environment of cooperative, sustainable success.
6) The habit of doing more than paid for. One of the penalties of leadership is the necessity of willingness, upon the part of the leader, to do more than they require of the leaders. Innetwork marketing, you must have an abundance mentality. The training and value that you provide must be made without condition and have real value. It is a common situation that when learning a new tool that you will have an impulse to keep it to yourself because you don’t want others to benefit from your work. However, this becomes counter-productive in network marketing because the word will eventually spread that you are not providing useful information (good luck prospecting after that) and also you will create a team that is not capable of being the type of leader that you want in your group.
MLM Ideas: Focus on the Relationship
The physical act of writing about leadership each day gets me fired up to carry out the daily needs of my business. Also, I have come across many different types of mlm consulting systems (facebook, twitter, craiglist, SEO, etc…) and none of them are “Magic Bullets!”. So what does this mean for your business? You need to bury the mindset of searching for the perfect, no hassle solution, and find a good, time-tested approach (you can get this from consulting with those that have had success in MLM) and sticking to it with mild adjustment as needed. With that in mind, back to the leadership traits:
7) A pleasing personality. No solvenly, careless person can become a successful leader. leadership calls for respect. Followers will not respect a leader who does not grade high on all of the factors of a pleasing personality. This doesn’t take too much to extend to network marketing, just remember that people will follow individuals with confident, positive and strong personalities. You can practice this in your daily life: ACTION POINT: for the rest of this week, if you get upset about something, see what happens if you immediately start looking for solutions and look for the upside that comes out of the problem. Your positive attitude will not go unnoticed and you will be surprised about how much more productive you will be.
Sympathy and understanding. The successful leader must be in sympathy with their followers. Moreover, they must understand them and their problems. This is a key component when doing attraction marketing for your network marketing business. In order to successfully bring in the people you want into your business, you must cater your recruiting tools to the people that you aim to have in your business. You also need to understand where your team is coming from and help them find solutions. Often times people just need to take a step back and get insight from someone else to really see that their problems in MLM can be solved. The leader can help them to do this
9) Mastery of Detail. Successful leadership calls for mastery of the details of the leader’s position. As the leader, you must be capable of leading! This sounds simple, but if you boast to be able to provide people with MLM training, you actually have to be able to follow through with it! If you are promising training for online MLM tools, you better be able to help them or point them in the right direction to help them (MLSP can help you with this).
10) Willingness to assume full responsibility. The successful leader must be willing to assume responsibility for the mistakes and the shortcomings of their followers. If they try to shift the responsibility, they will not remain the leader. If one of their followers makes a mistake, and shows himself incompetent, the leader must consider that it is he/she who failed. With this in mind, let me ask you a question: how many times have you felt the need to make sure people didn’t think it was your fault when a mistake was made in some aspect of your life? It is completely natural for someone to want to deflect the blame, but in most cases, this creates more problems than it solves. When you are talking with someone after a mistake has been made, would you rather hear:
1) “This is not my fault because…”
2) “This is the mistake that occurred, here is what we are going to change so it doesn’t happen again…”
Which of the two would you rather hear? As a leader, it is a requirement to view a failure in your network marketing business as a failure on your part. If you have someone in your team that doesn’t succeed and drops out, you may tell yourself that they just weren’t right for it, or they didn’t do the work, didn’t make enough calls, etc…However, is it possible that they were not successful because YOU didn’t provide them with the tools? A real leader will think about what they could have done differently in order for that person to be successful. Maybe they didn’t want to call their warm market, did you think about other ways they could build their business? Something I have done in the past is to actually call them and ask them what they thought went wrong and what I could have done differently. This can accomplish 2 things:
1) You can find out what you could improve on
2) You can go after referrals!
